The Journey
Read a story, or sing to your child every day.
Reinventing traditional, dark, nursery rhymes into modern-day songs.
When my first child was born, I was given a book of traditional nursery rhymes.
As I read them aloud to my new baby, full of innocence and joy, I realised the content was very dark and not what I wanted to sing to my child.
It was 1999, the internet was new, and my limited search left me with no options for educational and fun songs for children, so I wrote my own.
Featured in BW Magazine
My Rhymes was recently featured in BW Magazine, described as “one of those rare resources that’s as helpful as it is joyful.”
The article highlighted how the book blends playful rhymes with music and illustrations to make everyday routines easier and more enjoyable for children. It also shared how parents and educators can use the songs to support learning, emotional regulation, and fun family moments.
It was such a wonderful acknowledgment of the vision behind My Rhymes—to create positive, modern-day songs that bring joy and connection into the daily lives of young children and their families.
My Nursery Rhymes have been tried and tested for over twenty years!
My Rhymes was first published as “Millenium Rhymes”, back in 2002. I self-published and sold all two thousand copies.
The new updated My Rhymes hasn’t changed much from the original. The songs and rhymes are still relevant, and parents, grandparents, and teachers have tried and tested them for more than twenty years with great results.

Peter was the original illustrator for the books and merchandise, for popular children’s shows, The Wiggles, and Bananas in Pyjamas!
I’m so honoured to have the extremely talented Peter create Danny and all his illustrations for the book.
His amazing, hand-drawn illustrations are a work of art in their own right.

“As a new mum, I realised for my children to grow up communicating with confidence, they needed to know how to use their words.
I would sing to my kids about whatever we were doing, giving them the language and life lessons to grow and develop.
My Rhymes will give you and your children the tools to play, sing, make up actions, perform, use their imaginations, and be creative without needing a device!”
– Allison Grabham, Author.
